Headed out on Road 1 taking Road 35 & Road 36 through the Pingvellir National Park. Then eventually joining Road 1 back into Reyjavik.

Pingvellir National Park - Used by Iceland’s early settlers in AD930 for their national assembly, the Alpingi. Was a national amphitheatre of Pineville ‘parliament plains’. Decalred part of a National Park in 1928, sitting next to Iceland’s largest lake, Pingvallavatn, 84sq km & on the banks of the River Oxara ‘axe river’.
Blue lagoon - ‘Blaa Lonid’ The area is a by product of geothermal energy usage.
Trip notes: Weird being back in full civilisation with motorways. Got lost trying to find the hotel. Icelandair Hotel Loftleidir was full? Upgrade to 4 star from a 3 star hotel.
